Who We Are
About Us
Ehren Jaeger GSPs strives to develop and breed outstanding hunting companions that also excel in the show ring, in obedience events, and most importantly, are healthy additions to their owners' households.
While many kennels focus solely on either hunting or show, we strongly believe that a Shorthair that is of quality conformation will function better in the field and return to hunt, day after day, season after season. To this end, we are a family of avid hunters, and run our Shorthairs in hunt tests.
We show our GSPs and in younger years, our daughters participated in Junior Showmanship, and our GSPs compete in a variety of AKC performance tests. Strength of conformation and health will increase the hunting enjoyment of both the Shorthair and the hunter. We are quality hunters who deserve quality hunting companions!
Hunting.
We pride ourselves on breeding versatile hunting companions. Our dogs are highly intelligent, biddable, and extremely trainable. It is important for us to preserve the heritage of driven hunting dogs.
Conformation.
A quality dog begins with health and structure. Through conformation we are able to demonstrate that our dogs are built for performing in their intended environment. All of our foundation GSPs have the high quality health clearances. With proper conformation, GSPs are able to run faster and longer in the field. It is important that the structure of our companions enables them to live a healthy and happy life.
Companionship.
We pride ourselves on having well trained GSPs that settle well in the home. It is important that despite the energy needed to perform well in the field, our hunting companions can integrate easily with the rest of the family. Our dogs are our family, and it is important to have tolerant and calm dogs in the home.
